About this coffee

Sourced directly through Belco’s local agency, this coffee is grown by smallholder producers in the highlands of Nariño, Colombia’s southernmost coffee-growing department. Farms here are tiny—just 2 to 3 hectares on average—and perched at extreme altitudes of up to 2100 metres, where cool, cloudy weather slows down cherry maturation, enhancing complexity in the cup.

Nariño’s unique geography and climate make it one of the most highly regarded origins in Colombia. Despite representing only 4% of national production, its coffees are consistently among the most awarded—thanks to small-scale cultivation, dedication to quality, and traditional washing methods.

This particular lot reveals a cup profile that’s both sweet and structured, with notes of apricot, lemon, rhubarb, panela, and creamy milk chocolate. A beautiful balance of brightness, sweetness, and body.

Though parts of the region still face challenges related to illicit crops and instability, coffee has become a symbol of transformation and resilience. Direct trade helps sustain the local economy and empowers communities to invest in a better future.

An elegant, high-grown Colombian with real personality — and a story worth tasting.

🌊 Fresh Coffee Clean Ocean (FCCO)

Cleaner coffee, cleaner oceans

At La P’tite Cerise, we’re proud to support the FCCO – Fresh Coffee Clean Ocean initiative, led by our sourcing partner Belco.

The goal? To reduce the environmental footprint of coffee transport by choosing sailing cargo ships over conventional freight.

🚢 Why sail-powered transport?

  • Up to 90% less CO₂ emissions compared to traditional cargo

  • No heavy fuel oil = less marine pollution

  • Ventilated, temperature-controlled holds = better bean preservation

  • Shorter, more direct routes (around 20 days vs. 45)

🌿 Coffee with a conscience

By choosing FCCO-labelled lots, we offer you coffee that’s:

  • 🌍 Responsible, from farm to cup

  • 🌊 Ocean-friendly, protecting marine ecosystems

  • ♻️ Aligned with our values of sustainability and transparency

Good coffee tastes even better when it travels clean.
